0413 – BFL week 3 rankings

Hello and welcome to the Thursday edition of the blog. We’ve got the rankings for you today. Let’s start with the Computer Rankings. I’m not going to explain how this works exactly, because it’s kind of complicated. But the ratings themselves are actually points, a score of say +10 means the team is 10 points per game better than average, and a score of -5 means the team is 5 points per game worse than average.
The rankings may be slightly unusual at the moment, this is because not a lot of games have been played yet, in fact there are still 5 teams who haven’t played at all.

COMPUTER RANKINGS AFTER WEEK 3

1 – Gent Gators                                 + 27.3
2 – Ostend Pirates                            + 15.6
3 – Brussels Bulls                             + 13.3
3 – Brussels Black Angels               + 13.3
5 – Liege Monarchs                          + 7.1
6 – MSG Fighting Turtles               – 0.8
6 – Wapi Phoenix                             – 0.8
6 – Brussels Tigers                           – 0.8
6 – Izegem Tribes                             – 0.8
6 – Waterloo Warriors                     – 0.8
11 – Charleroi Coal Miners             – 8.8
12 – Leuven Lions                            – 9.7
13 – Limburg Shotguns                   – 12.7
14 – Puurs Titans                              – 17.4
15 – Antwerp Diamonds                 – 23.6

BFL POWER RANKINGS AFTER WEEK 3

The Power Rankings are just the rankings as I see them, not based on any numbers, just the ‘eye test’, as it were.

1 (+1)              – Gent Gators (2-0)
2 (-1)              – Brussels Tigers (0-0)
3 (+1)             – Brussels Black Angels (1-1)
4 (+1)             – Ostend Pirates (1-0)
5 (-2)              – Brussels Bulls (0-1)
6 (+1)             – Waterloo Warriors (0-0)
7 (+1)             – Mont-Saint-Guibert Fighting Turtles (0-0)
8 (+1)             – Leuven Lions (1-0)
9 (-3)              – Puurs Titans (0-1)
10 (=)             – Liege Monarchs (1-0)
11 (=)              – Limburg Shotguns (1-1)
12 (=)             – Izegem Tribes (0-0)
13 (=)             – Antwerp Diamonds (0-2)
14 (+1)           – Charleroi Coal Miners (0-1)
15 (-1)            – Wapi Phoenix (0-0)

So I’ve moved the Gators up to the number one spot ahead of the Tigers. Brussels don’t actually play their first game until March 16.
There weren’t any big upwards movers this week, but the Titans dropped three spots to number 9 after being hammered by the Pirates.

Upcoming

March 2 @ Charleroi

12:00 – #14 Wapi Phoenix vs #6 Waterloo Warriors
15:00 – #15 Charleroi Coal Miners vs #7 MSG Fighting Turtles
